Before the windfarm tracks were built no one would have ever considered even trying to fight a smaller fire in the area as it was too dangerous. The windfarm tracks help us fight smaller fires in the area.

Construction Benefits

Construction brings direct and indirect benefits for our host communities. We encourage our construction partners to procure locally for contractors, employees, materials, transport and accommodation.

Each of our projects generate direct opportunities for potential employees and contractors in the region. These include:

  • Domestic scale electricians
  • Transport operators
  • Competent machine operators
  • General labourers
  • Quarries
  • Concrete suppliers

The influx of skilled people into a community during the construction phase is often an opportunity to encourage civil construction and other project delivery partners to use their equipment and expertise to contribute to local community projects. The skate park in the centre of Snowtown is a great example of this. It was sponsored and constructed by Catcon, the civil construction contractor for the Snowtown Stage 2 project.

Peter Borda 2

I/we really needed that boost of your sponsorship commitment, and I would add also that the vibe with which you have carried through your support in addition to the financial support really made a difference and put more wind in our sails.

Thank you. I had to fight the tears when you phoned. I am so grateful. You will make 20 older Boorowa residents of Burrowa House much happier now and into the future.
