Snowtown BESS
The Snowtown BESS will improve the reliability of the electricity network by storing power for use during peak periods
The Snowtown BESS is a 100 MW, Battery Energy Storage System located beside the existing Snowtown Wind Farm substation, approximately 170km north of Adelaide. The BESS would be located immediately west of the wind farm on Wokurna Road.
The Snowtown BESS will store off peak power so it can be used during peak periods. This will help maintain a reliable energy supply.
The Snowtown BESS is early in the planning and design phase. We’re engaging with close neighbours and key stakeholders to confirm elements of the design. We’re planning to engage with the wider community in 2025 with further information on the Project and to seek feedback.
