Philip Bainbridge announced as the new Chairman of Tilt Renewables

The Board of leading Australian-owned renewable energy company Tilt Renewables has appointed Philip Bainbridge as the new Independent Chairman of the company. Mr Bainbridge’s appointment follows the retirement of longtime Chairman, Cheryl Bart AO.

Mr Bainbridge is the Chairman of Sims Limited and has extensive board and senior executive experience, in energy and the circular economy. He is also the Chairman of the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute. He has worked in a variety of jurisdictions, including North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

In welcoming the announcement, Tilt Renewables CEO Anthony Fowler said, “I’m delighted to welcome Phil to our Board as Independent Chairman and look forward to working with him.”

“Phil’s broad experience in the Australian energy sector, as well as his international experience, will benefit Tilt Renewables and its shareholders as the company enters its next stage of growth.”

The Board also confirmed that former Chairman Cheryl Bart AO has stepped down today from the Board of Tilt Renewables.

“Cheryl has been the guiding hand at Tilt Renewables over the past 8 years as the company has grown into a leading, Australian owned, renewable energy company” Mr Fowler said.

“Cheryl joined the Board of the Powering Australian Renewables Fund (PowAR) in June 2017 and was appointed to the role of Independent Chairman in July 2019”.

“She has led the Board through many important events including, most significantly, the acquisition by PowAR of Tilt Renewables”.

“Cheryl played a leading role in shaping the direction and success of Tilt Renewables. Her guidance and expertise were instrumental in driving Tilt Renewables’ strategy and putting us on the path to achieve our growth ambitions, and we are deeply grateful for the impact she has made”.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being part of the growth of Tilt Renewables and am confident that it will continue to play a leading role in Australia’s energy transition” Ms Bart said.

“We’ve come a long way in just a few years and I’d like to thank the Board, and all the team at Tilt Renewables, for their hard work and dedication. The company is in great shape and has a bright future ahead of it,” Ms Bart said.
