Our board
Our Board of Directors draw on a wealth of experience in the energy and wider business sectors. Each member is nominated based on the depth, diversity of skills and experience they will bring to the effective governance of the company.
Philip Bainbridge
Chairman
Philip was appointed to the Board of Tilt Renewables in October 2025.
Philip has extensive board and senior executive experience, primarily in the energy sector across exploration, development and production in commercial and technical roles. He has worked in multiple jurisdictions including North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. He has also held a senior executive role at Pacific National.
Currently, Philip is Chairman of Sims Limited, a global leader in the circular economy, Chairman of the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute and Chairman of Sino Gas and Energy. He previously held the role of Chair of Papua New Guinea Sustainable Development Program and has served on the Boards of Beach Energy and Newcrest Mining.
Philip is keen to use his skills to help decarbonising our world and helping drive the energy transition in Australia.
A keen sailor, ocean swimmer and mountain biker, Philip also serves and volunteers with Sailability Victoria, providing sailing opportunities for the disabled and disadvantaged.
Philip holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, is a GAICD and has completed the INSEAD International Executive Program.
Paul Maguire
Director
Paul was appointed to the Board of Tilt Renewables in May 2024.
Paul is currently a Partner in the QIC Infrastructure team. He represents QIC on the ACCC / AER Infrastructure Consultative Committee and has over 25 years’ experience in the energy and utility sectors.
He has served in a number of CEO roles across Asia and Australia including being responsible for Engie’s activities in the Asia Pacific, heading the largest vertically integrated utility in Singapore (Senoko Energy), leading the Australian energy retailer Simply Energy and overseeing Lumea which is the entity responsible for Transgrid’s unregulated activities.
Paul’s passion for providing sustainable energy solutions for customers led him to oversee Engie’s exit from coal fired generation in the Asia Pacific as well as the investment in new renewable generation in multiple developed and emerging economies including, Australia, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Malaysia.
Matina Papathanasiou
Director
Matina was a founding director of PARF in 2016 and was reappointed to the Board of Tilt Renewables in October 2021.
Matina has more than 30 years of experience across institutional funds management, investment advisory, infrastructure, with specific experience in the renewables and utility sectors. She was formerly the Founding Partner of the QIC Global Infrastructure business for 17 years which manages over $32 billion in unlisted infrastructure investments.
Matina has served on numerous infrastructure boards over the last 20 years with a focus on developing and building businesses and achieving strong investment returns in a sustainable manner. She currently sits on the Board of Housing Australia and the Investment Advisory Board to the UNDRR on climate resilience.
Matina is a passionate advocate for diversity, climate change and social equity. As a senior woman, she has been particularly proactive in the infrastructure sector in promoting and advancing diversity.
Gary Brown
Director
Gary joined the Board of Tilt Renewables in July 2023. With over 23 years of experience in multinational energy businesses, including BHP, Shell, and Engie, Gary brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Board. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at AGL Energy.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University, is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Outside of his professional life, Gary enjoys playing hockey and running and spending time with his family
Richard Gross
Director
Richard joined the Tilt Renewables Board as an Independent Director in August 2023.
Richard has over 30 years’ experience in the energy sector, its infrastructure, asset management, risk management and customer experience. His track record includes managing industry acquisitions and mergers, advising on and implementing regulatory strategies, leading high-performance teams and championing the interests of both providers and consumers in a rapidly changing environment.
He was CEO of Ausgrid, the largest non- government owned Transmission and Distribution business in the NEM for over 6 years. During that time he led the transformation of Ausgrid into a customer centric, operationally efficient industry leading business. He has previously served as CEO Wellington Electricity in NZ and held numerous Executive and non- Executive roles for the CKI group.
Richard attended the Harvard Advanced Management Program in 2011.
Leeanne Bond
Director
Leeanne Bond was appointed to the Board of Tilt Renewables in February 2025.
Leeanne has more than 30 years experience in energy transition and decarbonisation of our economy, infrastructure and project governance, innovation and entrepreneurship and workplace diversity and inclusion.
She is currently Deputy Chair and lead independent director of FPR Energy and an independent non-executive director of Aurecon Limited, One Basin CRC Limited and The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE). Leeanne also chairs the Queensland Energy System Advisory Board (QESAB) advising the Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Energy on the energy transition and has previously served on the boards of public, private and government entities in the energy sector including Snowy Hydro, Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Territory Generation and Tarong Energy and chaired the recent Minerals to Megawatts Cooperative Research Centre Bid for QUT.
Leeanne has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and an MBA from The University of Queensland and recently completed the UQ Oxford executive leadership course with Saïd Business School. Leeanne is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of Chief Executive Women. She is an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering.
Alison Andrew
Director
Alison was appointed to the Board of Tilt Renewables in June 2025.
Alison completed her executive career in June 24, having served over 10 years as Chief Executive of Transpower NZ. She is a director of Port of Tauranga and previously has been a director for Genesis Energy.
Alison has had a broad corporate experience. Prior to joining Transpower she was the Global Head of Chemicals for Orica plc. She has also held a number of senior roles at Fonterra Cooperative Group and across the Fletcher Challenge Group in Energy, Forestry and Paper.
She has an MBA from Warwick University where she graduated with Distinction and studied engineering (chemical and materials, 1st class hons) at Auckland University. She is a fellow of Engineering NZ and a chartered member of the Institute of Directors.
Our Executive Team
Our executive team is in charge of running Tilt Renewables on a day-to-day basis. They bring to their roles extensive experience and skills gained in the electricity generation and other relevant industry sectors.
Anthony Fowler
Chief Executive Officer
Anthony is an experienced energy executive with over 25 years in the sector.
Anthony commenced as Chief Executive Officer of Tilt Renewables in February 2024.
Prior to joining Tilt Renewables, Anthony was the Chief Executive Officer of Lochard Energy, a leading midstream energy infrastructure business owned by some of Australia’s most prominent infrastructure investors. Previous roles include as the Group Executive at AGL responsible for Australia’s largest generation portfolio, energy trading and commercial and industrial retail.
Anthony is a graduate of the Harvard Advanced Management Program.
Hamish Irving
Chief Financial Officer
Hamish Irving is a finance executive with over twenty years experience in the telco and energy industries.
Prior to joining Tilt Renewables, Hamish was Deputy CFO at EnergyAustralia, an energy generation and retail business with 1.6 million customers and 5 GW of generation capacity and held prior roles as Interim CFO and Head of Strategy and Commercial Finance. He held a number of senior finance roles at Telstra including Investor Relations and gained utilities experience at Centrica in the UK.
Hamish is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and NZ, has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Catherine Ahlberg
General Counsel and Company Secretary
Catherine is a highly experienced corporate lawyer and governance professional, with more than 20 years’ experience working in the energy sector. She has worked on the development of major energy projects, in addition to advising on legal matters relating to operational assets and mergers and acquisitions.
Catherine joined Tilt Renewables as General Counsel and Company Secretary in November 2022 and is responsible for the delivery of legal services, land contract administration and the management of company secretarial activities within the Tilt Renewables Group.
Prior to joining Tilt Renewables, Catherine held senior positions at SNC-Lavalin, Viva Energy Australia and Royal Dutch Shell.
Laurent Francisci
Chief Development Officer
Laurent is a highly experienced development, construction and operations executive, with more than 30 years’ experience across a range of infrastructure sectors, including the last 9 years in renewable energy.
Laurent joined Tilt Renewables as Chief Development Officer in May 2024.
Prior to joining Tilt Renewables, Laurent held leadership roles at Suez (Water Treatment) and was Chief Operating Officer at Neoen.
Kathy Bremner
Executive General Manager People and Safety
Kathy is a Corporate Services professional with 18 years executive experience, 15 of which have been in the renewables space.
Kathy joined Tilt Renewables in February 2024 and leads the People, Health, Safety, Environment, Acceleration Hub, Brand and Marketing functions for Tilt Renewables in the role of Executive General Manager People and Safety.
In Kathy’s previous executive roles, she has led a variety of corporate services functions including People, Safety, Governance, Risk and Compliance across Australia, Chile and Brazil for organisations such as South East Water and Pacific Hydro.
Angela Catt
Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs
Angela is a highly experienced corporate and government executive, with more than 20 years’ operating across national and global markets in the energy, recycling and reuse industries.
Angela commenced at Tilt Renewables as Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs in September 2024.
Prior to joining Tilt Renewables, Angela was the Global Chief Sustainability and Financial Officer of Sims Lifecycle Services. Prior roles include Executive Director Energy Delivery and JSSC of NSW Government, General Manager Commercial & Government for AGL’s New Energy business, as well as senior leadership roles at AGL Energy, across wholesale trading, strategy, analytics.
Ross Edwards
Executive General Manager Operations & Markets
Ross is a highly experienced commercial and operations executive with more than 20 years in the sector.
Ross joined Tilt Renewables in September 2025.
Prior to joining Tilt Renewables, Ross was the Executive of Trading and Transition at EnergyAustralia for 7 years. During that time, he was responsible for the gross margin for the 5GW portfolio and developing new energy assets to transition the portfolio towards a lower emissions future. During his career Ross has worked in areas including Operations, Strategy, Technology and M&A.
Ross is an Under Graduate of Commerce and Civil Engineering from the University of Melbourne.
