Cultural Heritage Management Plan
The Dalvui BESS is proposed within the Registered Aboriginal Party area of the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation. Under Victoria’s Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006, the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Party Corporation holds decision-making responsibilities for protecting Aboriginal cultural heritage within their specific geographical area.
A Notice of Intent to prepare a Cultural Heritage Management Plan (as required under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006) was lodged with Aboriginal Victoria on 16 November 2020. The Cultural Heritage Management Plan assessed the potential impact of the Dalvui BESS on Aboriginal cultural heritage and outlines measures to protect it if identified during construction. The Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation approved the Cultural Heritage Management Plan for the Dalvui BESS on 18 July 2022.
