Palmer Wind Farm – Construction
Project overview
The Palmer Wind Farm will start construction in 2026.
Tilt Renewables is constructing the Palmer Wind Farm with the following delivery partners:
- Turbine Supply and Install: Vestas
- Electrical and Civil Balance of Plant (including road upgrade works): BMD
- Grid Connection: ElectraNet
Pre-works and site preparation
In the lead up to construction starting mid 2026, our contractor BMD will be doing pre-works and site preparation over the coming months. The majority of this work will occur within the project site, but there will be some surveying on Randell Road.
These investigations are very similar to those that have been occurring over the last few years during project development. We don’t expect the community to experience any changes, but there might be some additional vehicles in the area.
Construction updates
The project will distribute regular updates once construction starts.

SMS notifications
The project will use SMS notifications to notify the local community when:
- Blasting activities are due to occur
- Oversize and Overmass vehicles are on the roads

Community Consultative Committee
For construction Tilt Renewables is setting up a Community Consultative Committee (CCC).
The aim of the CCC is to facilitate two-way communication between the community and the Project team during the construction phase. The CCC will provide a forum for community members to raise issues, share local knowledge and provide feedback to Tilt Renewables and the Balance of Plant (BOP) Contractor (BMD).
The CCC Terms of Reference can be read here: Palmer Wind Farm – CCC Terms of Reference
If you are interested in joining the CCC, please express your interest via our Expression of Interest Form before 9am Tuesday 26 May 2026.
Community engagement
Tilt Renewables want to be active part of the community throughout construction and over the life of the project. We welcome your feedback and are happy to assist with any questions you may have about the Project.
We’ll be holding monthly community drop-in sessions and warmly welcome anyone to come along for a chat. This is an informal opportunity to:
- Ask questions about the project;
- Share any thoughts or concerns;
- Have a conversation with the project team;
- Simply drop in and say hello.
Location: Tungkillo Hall
When: Monthly on a Wednesday 3 – 6pm, First ones are Wed 13 May and Wed 17 June 2026.
No presentations, no formal agenda—just a chance to connect. Feel free to drop in at any time during the session—we look forward to meeting you.
We also hosted a series of engagement events in February 2026 to share construction plans and work through challenges and opportunities with the community. This included a ‘meet the contractor’ event for local businesses to meet our lead contractor BMD.
