Snowtown BESS – Planning and Approvals

The project is seeking to obtain an Associated Infrastructure Licence under the Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act 2023.

As part of the licence application process, Tilt Renewables prepared a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and Statement of Environmental Objectives (SEO). Stakeholder consultation on the draft reports was conducted in August 2025.

We considered the feedback received and made adjustments where possible. The final Environmental Impact Report and Statement of Environmental Objectives were then submitted to the Department of Energy and Mining (DEM) for assessment.

The Department of Energy and Mining undertook public consultation on the reports in December 2025 and January 2026. This feedback will be considered in their final assessment of the reports.
