Tilt Renewables announces next step in delivering the Palmer Wind Farm in South Australia

Leading Australian-owned renewable energy company Tilt Renewables has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with AGL. This represents a key milestone to support the commercialisation of the Palmer Wind Farm, with a generation capacity of up to 288 MW, just 70 km east of Adelaide.

Under the 15 year PPA, 45% of the generation output of the Palmer Wind Farm will be sold to AGL at a fixed price.

Anthony Fowler, Tilt Renewables CEO, stated that the PPA ensures revenue certainty to support investment in the Project and clearly demonstrates the robust demand for renewable energy, which is essential for the energy transition.

“We are currently working through secondary approvals and finalising construction contracts. A final investment decision on the project is expected in the coming months targeting commercial operation by December 2028.”

“Once constructed the generation from Palmer Wind Farm is equivalent to powering around 142,000 South Australian homes per year with zero emissions electricity. The project will facilitate more than 200 new jobs in construction and five permanent jobs for the local community as well as over $7 million in community benefit funding over the life of the project.”

“It’s a big win for South Australia and a significant milestone for Tilt Renewables, which is a leading Australian-owned renewable energy business and the largest owner of operational wind and solar generation in the country.”
