Tilt Renewables announces next step in delivering the Waddi Wind Farm in Western Australia

Leading Australian-owned renewable energy company Tilt Renewables has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with AGL Energy (AGL). This represents a key milestone to support the commercialisation of the Waddi Wind Farm, with a generation capacity of 108 MW, 150km north of Perth.

Under the 15-year PPA, 100% of the generation output of the Waddi Wind Farm will be sold to AGL at a fixed price.

In welcoming the agreement Anthony Fowler, Tilt Renewables CEO, stated that the PPA ensures revenue certainty to support investment in the Project and demonstrates the robust demand for renewable energy, which is essential for the energy transition.

“This is a significant milestone for Tilt Renewables with the Waddi Wind Farm being our
first project in Western Australia”, he said.

“We are currently working through our internal processes and finalising construction contracts. A final investment decision on the project is expected in coming weeks and we are targeting commercial operation in the second half of 2028”.

“Once constructed the generation from Waddi Wind Farm is equivalent to powering around 68,000 West Australian homes per year with zero emissions electricity. The project will facilitate more than 150 new jobs in construction and six permanent jobs during operations as well as over $3.9 million in community benefit funding over the life of the project.”

“It’s a big win for Western Australia and for Tilt Renewables, the leading Australian owned renewable energy business and the largest owner of operational wind and solar generation in the country.”
