Tilt Renewables has cemented its position as the leading generator of wind and solar energy in Australia after entering into binding agreements to acquire a 100% interest in the Boco Rock Wind Farm from the Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (or EGCO Group) and Squadron Energy.
This strategic acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approvals, underscores Tilt Renewables’ commitment to growth in NSW. Boco Rock Wind Farm is in southern NSW, approximately 10km South-West of Nimmitabel in the Snowy-Monaro region. The acquisition includes the already operating 113MW Stage 1 and the proposed 84MW Stage 2 expansion.
This acquisition aligns with Tilt Renewables’ long-term strategy to be the leading wind developer and operator in Australia, and the partner of choice in the renewable energy sector. Tilt Renewables plans to reinvest the earnings from Boco Rock into its development activities to further drive Australia’s renewable future.
Tilt Renewables CEO Anthony Fowler said the acquisition was a significant boost to Tilt’s operational fleet.
“We are pleased to welcome Boco Rock Wind Farm into our portfolio,” Mr Fowler said.
“This acquisition not only strengthens our position as a long-term owner and operator of renewable energy assets but also reinforces our dedication to supporting Australia’s transition to a clean energy future.
“The acquisition of Boco Rock Wind Farm brings our operational fleet to 1.8GW. Together with our broader development pipeline it is projects like Boco Rock Wind Farm that are securing our place as Australia’s leading operator of wind farms.
“As an Australian owned and operated company, Tilt Renewables is committed to being a positive community member. We look forward to building on the Boco Rock Wind Farm’s already strong relationships and continuing to help share the benefits of generation within the community.”
Tilt Renewables is expected to take full ownership of the Boco Rock Wind Farm in early 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
