The Nonowie Wind Farm is a proposed clean energy project west of Whyalla. The proposed site is approximately 22,500 hectares and located within the Whyalla City Council area, near the Lincoln Highway. The Project will connect into the National Electricity Market and would generate enough clean energy to power around 570,000 homes across Whyalla, the Eyre Peninsula and South Australia.

Nonowie Wind Farm is located approximately 10km west of Whyalla in South Australia. Lincoln Highway (B100) passes through the centre of site, and Eight Mile Creek Road borders the southeast corner of the site.
Nonowie Wind Farm is still in the early stages of design, you can view the draft concept design below:
Draft Concept Design
Since October 2023, Tilt Renewables have been using three meteorological masts placed on the site to record wind and environmental data. This data will inform the design and feasibility of the Project.
We are continuing to undertake several feasibility studies and surveys of the site, including ecological surveys.
These assessments help inform the design of the Nonowie Wind Farm. We will share our findings from these studies at public drop in sessions.
